Gavilac 200ml is an oral suspension formulated with Sodium Alginate, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Calcium Carbonate. It is used to relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, such as heartburn, acid indigestion, and discomfort caused by stomach acid rising into the esophagus. Gavilac works by forming a protective "raft" over the stomach contents, which acts as a physical barrier to prevent acid reflux. It provides fast and lasting relief from acid-related discomfort and is suitable for adults, pregnant women (under medical advice), and children over 6 years old.
