Indications:
Treatment and prevention of seizures in epilepsy, management of bipolar disorder.
Pharmacology:
Valproate Sodium increases brain GABA levels, calming nerve activity to prevent seizures and stabilize mood.
Dosage:
Typical dose ranges from 200 mg to 2500 mg daily, adjusted individually by a physician.
Administration:
Oral use; taken once or twice daily with food to reduce stomach upset.
Interaction:
May interact with other anticonvulsants, aspirin, and anticoagulants; inform your doctor.
Contraindications:
Liver disease, urea cycle disorders, hypersensitivity to valproate.
