FEXOSUN contains fexofenadine hydrochloride, a second-generation antihistamine. It works by selectively blocking peripheral H₁ receptors, preventing histamine-induced allergic reactions. Fexofenadine does not significantly cross the blood-brain barrier, minimizing sedative effects.
Adults and children ≥12 years: 180 mg once daily
Children 6–11 years: 120 mg once daily
Children 2–5 years: 60 mg once daily
Dosage may vary based on renal function; consult a healthcare provider.
Take FEXOSUN 180 MG Tablet orally with water. It can be taken with or without food. Avoid taking with fruit juices like grapefruit, orange, or apple juice, as they may reduce the absorption of fexofenadine.
Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may reduce the absorption of fexofenadine.
Erythromycin and ketoconazole can increase fexofenadine plasma levels.
Avoid concurrent use with fruit juices mentioned above.
Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any component of the tablet.
Severe renal impairment.
Common: Headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
Less common: Nausea, fatigue.
Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, difficulty breathing.
Pregnancy: Category C. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Lactation: Considered safe; minimal amounts excreted in breast milk.
Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
Monitor for signs of allergic reactions.
Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment.
Non-sedating antihistamines
Store at room temperature (20–25°C) in a dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
