Indications

  • Partial-onset seizures (with or without secondary generalization)

  • Myoclonic seizures

  • Primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures

  • Adjunctive therapy in epilepsy

Pharmacology

  • Levetiracetam, the active ingredient in Levipil 500 MG Tablet, is an anticonvulsant that works by inhibiting the abnormal excitation of brain cells, thereby preventing seizures.

Dosage

  • Adults and Children over 16 years: The initial dose is typically 500 mg twice daily, which may be gradually increased based on the patient's response and tolerance.

  • Children aged 1 month to 16 years: Dosage is adjusted according to body weight and age, as determined by the treating physician.

Administration

  • Take the tablet orally with a glass of water.

  • Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew, crush, or break it.

  • Preferably take with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.

Interaction

  • May interact with other central nervous system depressants, increasing the risk of drowsiness or dizziness.

Contraindications
