Indications:
OLMEZEST is indicated for:

Essential hypertension treatment
-
Reducing risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and other cardiovascular events in high-risk patients
Pharmacology:
Olmesartan Medoxomil selectively blocks angiotensin II receptors (AT1 subtype), preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, leading to vasodilation and blood pressure reduction.
Dosage & Administration:

Adults: Usually 20 mg once daily, can be adjusted based on clinical response.

Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:

May interact with other antihypertensives, NSAIDs, potassium supplements, and lithium.

Avoid concurrent use with aliskiren in diabetic patients.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or components

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Bilateral renal artery stenosis
Side Effects:

Dizziness, headache, fatigue

Hyperkalemia, hypotension

Rare: angioedema
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor renal function and electrolytes periodically

Use cautiously in patients with renal or hepatic impairment

Avoid sudden discontinuation
