Description
Sompraz 40 mg is a medication containing Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is primarily used to treat acid-related conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers. Esomeprazole works by blocking the proton pump in the stomach lining, which helps reduce acid secretion. This medication is often prescribed for managing conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excessive stomach acid production) and in combination with antibiotics for Helicobacter pylori eradication. Sompraz 40 mg is typically taken once a day, at least one hour before meals, for the best effect.
