Allertin 20 mg is indicated for:
Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
Chronic idiopathic urticaria
Relief from symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, and hives
Ebastine is a second-generation, long-acting H1-receptor antagonist. It selectively blocks peripheral histamine receptors and reduces allergic symptoms without significant sedation due to poor penetration of the blood-brain barrier.
Adults: 10 to 20 mg once daily, based on severity
Usually taken in the morning
Take orally, with or without food. Swallow with water.
Use caution with ketoconazole, erythromycin, and clarithromycin (may increase Ebastine levels)
May enhance effects of alcohol and CNS depressants in sensitive individuals
Known hypersensitivity to Ebastine or any component of the product
Severe liver dysfunction (use with caution)
Headache
Dry mouth
Drowsiness (rare)
Abdominal discomfort
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed
Limited human data; avoid during lactation unless necessary
Caution in patients with prolonged QT interval or on QT-prolonging drugs
Avoid overdose; do not exceed prescribed dose
