Description
Tabis 5 mg Tablet, manufactured by Navana Pharmaceuticals Ltd., contains Bisoprolol Fumarate 5 mg, a highly selective beta-1 adrenergic blocker. It is primarily used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain), and moderate to severe heart failure. By selectively blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, Bisoprolol reduces heart rate and cardiac output, leading to decreased blood pressure and improved heart function. The usual starting dose for hypertension is 5 mg once daily, with adjustments based on individual patient needs. For heart failure, the dosage is gradually increased, starting from 1.25 mg once daily up to a maximum of 10 mg daily, depending on patient tolerance. Common side effects include fatigue, dizziness, headache, and bradycardia (slow heart rate). Patients with certain conditions, such as severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, or second- or third-degree AV block, should avoid using this medication.
