Malifa 30 mg is indicated for treatment of dermatophytic infections, candidiasis, and other superficial fungal infections affecting skin and nails.
Malifa contains Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal that inhibits fungal enzyme squalene epoxidase, disrupting fungal cell membrane synthesis leading to fungal death.
Generally, 30 mg once daily or as prescribed by the physician depending on the infection type and severity.
Take orally with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve earlier.
May interact with drugs metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP450. Inform your doctor about all current medications.
Not recommended for patients with liver disease or known hypersensitivity to terbinafine or related antifungal agents.
Possible side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, rash, and rarely liver dysfunction. Report serious symptoms immediately.
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding is not well established.
Liver function tests are advised before and during treatment. Discontinue if signs of liver injury occur.
