Lucon 150 mg contains Fluconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal medication belonging to the triazole class, used primarily to treat and prevent fungal infections. It is especially effective against Candida species, making it commonly prescribed for vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis), oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, and certain systemic fungal infections. Lucon 150 mg works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to cell death. The 150 mg dose is typically administered as a single oral capsule for uncomplicated vaginal infections but may be used in repeated or prolonged regimens for other fungal conditions, depending on the severity and type of infection.
