Description
Pires-M Syrup 100 mL is a combination cough syrup manufactured by Navana Pharmaceuticals Ltd., designed to relieve dry, irritating, and non-productive coughs, as well as related symptoms like throat irritation and nasal congestion. Each 5 mL of the syrup contains 100 mg of Guaifenesin, 1.1 mg of Levomenthol, and 14 mg of Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride. Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant, helping to loosen mucus in the airways and making it easier to cough up. Levomenthol provides a cooling effect and helps soothe the throat and relieve nasal congestion, while Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine with sedative and antitussive properties, suppresses the cough reflex and reduces allergic symptoms. This syrup is typically recommended for adults and children over 12 years of age, with a dosage of 10 mL up to four times daily. It may cause drowsiness, dry mouth, or dizziness, so users are advised to avoid driving or operating machinery after taking it. Pires-M should not be used by children under 12 years or by individuals taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
