Description
Pizofen TS 1.5 mg is a medication manufactured by Navana Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Pizotifen as its active ingredient. It is primarily used for the prophylactic treatment of vascular headaches, including classical migraine, common migraine, and cluster headache. Pizofen TS works by antagonizing serotonin receptors and possesses antihistamine, antibradykinin, and weak anticholinergic properties. It also has appetite-stimulating effects. The usual adult dosage is 1.5 mg daily, which may be taken as a single dose at night or in three divided doses. The dosage should be adjusted to the individual patient's requirements, up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily. Pizofen TS is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. Common side effects include increased appetite, weight gain, and drowsiness. Caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery, as Pizofen TS may cause drowsiness.
