Indications:
Used for the relief of local pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, sprains, strains, back pain, and soft tissue injuries.
Pharmacology:
FESTAM gel contains diclofenac sodium, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing inflammation and pain. The gel allows localized delivery to affected areas, minimizing systemic absorption.
Dosage & Administration:

Apply a thin layer of gel (2–4g) to the affected area 3–4 times daily.

Massage gently into the skin.

Wash hands thoroughly after application unless the hands are the treatment area.

For external use only; do not apply on open wounds or near the eyes/mucous membranes.
Interaction:
Topical use generally avoids systemic interactions, but concurrent use with other NSAIDs (oral/topical) should be monitored.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs, aspirin allergy, or broken/damaged skin.
Side Effects:
May cause localized skin irritation, redness, itching, or rash. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy. Use during lactation should be under physician supervision and should not be applied to the breast area.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid excessive use or application to large body areas. Not for use in children without medical advice. Discontinue use if rash or irritation occurs.
