Indications:
NEPCO 25 MG Capsule is indicated for treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and prevention of myocardial infarction.
Pharmacology:
Contains Atenolol, a selective beta-1 adrenergic blocker that reduces heart rate and cardiac output, lowering blood pressure and decreasing oxygen demand on the heart.
Dosage:
Generally prescribed as 25 mg once daily, dosage may vary as per doctor's advice.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Swallow capsule whole; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:
May interact with calcium channel blockers, antiarrhythmics, other beta-blockers, and diabetic drugs. Inform your physician about all medications.
Contraindications:
Not recommended in patients with sinus bradycardia, heart block over first degree, cardiogenic shock, severe peripheral arterial disease, or known allergy to atenolol.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include fatigue, dizziness, cold hands and feet, slow heartbeat, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Rare cases of bronchospasm or depression reported.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if necessary. Atenolol passes into breast milk; use caution when breastfeeding.
