Indications:
OLACING DS 5 ML is indicated for the treatment of serious external ocular infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers, and post-surgical eye infections.
Pharmacology:
OLACING DS contains Ofloxacin at a higher concentration (typically 0.6%), making it more potent against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, crucial enzymes for bacterial replication and repair.
Dosage:

Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 to 4 hours for the first 2 days, then reduce to 4 times daily for 5 more days or as directed by a physician.

Dosage and frequency may vary depending on the severity of the infection.
Administration:
For ophthalmic use only. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface or to the eye to avoid contamination. Shake well before use if indicated.
Interaction:
No significant interactions reported with topical use. Avoid concurrent use of multiple topical antibiotics unless prescribed.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to ofloxacin, other fluoroquinolones, or any component of the product.
Side Effects:
May include temporary burning, stinging, redness, dry eyes, or blurred vision. Rare side effects include allergic reaction or hypersensitivity.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy and lactation only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare provider. Limited data is available on topical ocular use.
Precautions & Warnings:

Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms including fungi.
