SILVERPAC is a combination antibiotic usually containing Ciprofloxacin and Tinidazole (or Metronidazole) or similar agents. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, interfering with bacterial DNA replication. Tinidazole acts by disrupting the DNA of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.
Adults: Usually 1 tablet twice daily or as prescribed by the physician
Take with or without food
Complete the full course even if symptoms improve
May interact with antacids, iron supplements, and dairy products, reducing absorption of ciprofloxacin
Avoid concomitant use with other drugs that prolong QT interval
Caution with warfarin and other anticoagulants (may increase bleeding risk)
Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin, tinidazole, or any component of the tablet
Pregnancy and lactation unless prescribed by a doctor
History of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolones
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache
Serious: Tendon rupture, allergic reactions, QT prolongation, photosensitivity
Pregnancy: Use only if clearly needed and under medical advice
Lactation: Use with caution; consult healthcare provider
Avoid excessive sun exposure due to photosensitivity risk
Monitor for tendon pain or inflammation, especially in elderly
Not recommended in children and adolescents except in specific cases
Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment
