Indications:
NEPCO CR 165 MG is indicated for prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases including myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and other thromboembolic disorders in patients at risk.
Pharmacology:
NEPCO CR contains 165 mg of Aspirin in a controlled-release formulation. Aspirin inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzyme in platelets irreversibly, preventing thromboxane A2 formation and reducing platelet aggregation, thereby lowering the risk of clot formation.
Dosage:
Usually taken once daily, 165 mg or as directed by the physician depending on the clinical condition.
Administration:
Swallow whole with water, preferably after meals. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Interaction:
Concurrent use with anticoagulants, NSAIDs, corticosteroids, SSRIs, and alcohol may increase bleeding risk. Inform your doctor about all medications to avoid interactions.
Contraindications:
Not to be used in patients with active bleeding, peptic ulcer, hypersensitivity to aspirin or NSAIDs, severe hepatic or renal impairment, or children with viral infections.
Side Effects:
May cause gastrointestinal discomfort, bleeding, nausea, allergic reactions, and in rare cases, severe hypersensitivity or bleeding complications.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Avoid use in the third trimester of pregnancy. Use during lactation only if prescribed by a doctor.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor for signs of bleeding or gastric irritation.
Avoid concurrent use with other blood thinners unless advised.
Use cautiously in patients with history of ulcers or bleeding disorders.
