Indications:
OLACING MAX 5 ML is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, and other external eye infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
Pharmacology:
OLACING MAX contains Ofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This leads to rapid bacterial cell death.
Dosage:

Bacterial conjunctivitis: 1–2 drops every 2–4 hours for the first two days, then 4 times daily for the next 5 days.

Corneal ulcer: 1–2 drops every 30 minutes while awake, then reduce frequency as directed by the physician.
Administration:
For ophthalmic use only. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s). Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions have been reported with topical ofloxacin, but it should not be used concurrently with other topical antibiotics without medical advice.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include eye irritation, burning, redness, blurred vision, or a bitter taste. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician. Caution is advised during lactation due to lack of sufficient data on topical use.
Precautions & Warnings:

Do not wear contact lenses during treatment.

Use with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to quinolones.

Prolonged use may lead to fungal or secondary infections.

Storage Conditions:
Store below 25°C. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children. Discard the bottle within 30 days after opening.
