Indications:
For improved glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, used alongside diet and exercise.
Pharmacology:
Empagliflozin inhibits sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) in kidneys, reducing glucose reabsorption and increasing its excretion via urine.
Dosage:
Typically 25 mg once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food.
Administration:
Oral administration; swallow the tablet whole with water.
Interaction:
Possible interactions with diuretics, insulin, and other antidiabetic drugs.
Contraindications:
Type 1 diabetes, severe renal impairment, hypersensitivity to Empagliflozin.
