Indications:
Indicated for the treatment of hypertension. It helps lower blood pressure and reduces the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.
Pharmacology:
Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that blocks vasoconstriction and aldosterone-secreting effects. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes vascular smooth muscles, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.
Dosage:
The typical dose is one tablet daily. Dosage should be individualized based on patient response and under medical supervision.
Administration:
Administer orally, with or without food. Take at the same time each day for best results.
Interaction:
May interact with potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, NSAIDs, and other antihypertensives. Grapefruit juice may increase Amlodipine levels.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Olmesartan, Amlodipine, or any component of the product. Also contraindicated in pregnancy.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, peripheral edema, and hypotension. Rarely, allergic reactions or kidney dysfunction may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should not be used during pregnancy. Use with caution during lactation only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor blood pressure regularly. Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.
