Indications:
Prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma in children
Relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis
Prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction
Pharmacology:
Monfast ODT 4 mg contains Montelukast Sodium, a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It blocks substances called leukotrienes that cause inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus production in asthma and allergic rhinitis.
Dosage:
Children 2–5 years: One tablet (4 mg) once daily in the evening
Should be taken regularly even if the child is asymptomatic
Not to be used for acute asthma attacks
Administration:
Orally disintegrating tablet; place on tongue to dissolve
Can be taken with or without food
Do not swallow whole or chew
Interaction:
No significant interaction with common medications
Use caution with phenobarbital, rifampin – may reduce effectiveness
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to Montelukast or any tablet component

Mood or behavior changes

Not applicable for use in pregnancy or lactation
Precautions & Warnings:
Not for acute asthma attacks
Monitor for behavioral changes in children
Use under adult supervision
