Description

• রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

Indications:
VAXIGRIP TETRA 0.5 ML is indicated for:

  • Prevention of Seasonal Influenza: It is used to protect individuals from flu caused by influenza A and B viruses, specifically two strains of influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and two strains of influenza B.

  • Individuals at Risk: It is recommended for adults and children (typically above 6 months of age) who are at higher risk of complications from flu, including elderly people, pregnant women, healthcare workers, and individuals with underlying health conditions.

This vaccine offers quadrivalent protection, which means it covers four different influenza strains, providing more comprehensive coverage compared to earlier vaccines that only covered two or three strains.

Pharmacology:
VAXIGRIP TETRA 0.5 ML contains inactivated viruses from four different strains of the influenza virus. The vaccine works by stimulating the body's immune system to produce antibodies against the influenza viruses included in the vaccine. These antibodies help the body recognize and fight off the influenza viruses if it encounters them in the future.

The vaccine is produced using a cell-based technology that makes it highly effective in preventing the flu, as it targets multiple influenza strains commonly circulating during flu season.

Dosage:

  • Adults and Children (≥ 6 months): A single dose of 0.5 mL is administered via injection into the muscle, typically in the upper arm.

  • For children under 9 years old who are receiving the flu vaccine for the first time, two doses may be required at least one month apart.

  • For individuals receiving the vaccine annually, a single dose of 0.5 mL is sufficient.

Administration:

  • VAXIGRIP TETRA 0.5 ML is administered as an intramuscular injection.

  • It is typically injected into the deltoid muscle of the upper arm.

  • The vaccine should be given by a healthcare professional.

Interaction:

  • Immunosuppressive Medications: If you are taking medications that suppress the immune system (e.g., corticosteroids, chemotherapy), it is important to consult your healthcare provider before receiving the vaccine, as these may reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.

  • Other Vaccines: There are no known interactions with other vaccines, but it is always important to inform your healthcare provider about any other vaccinations you are receiving, particularly during flu season.

Contraindications:

  • Allergic Reaction: VAXIGRIP TETRA should not be administered to individuals who have had an allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine, including egg proteins (as the vaccine is grown in chicken embryos).

  • Severe Acute Illness: If you have a severe acute illness or fever, vaccination should be postponed until you recover.

  • History of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS): Those with a history of GBS should consult their healthcare provider before receiving this vaccine.

Common side effects:

Pregnancy & Lactation:
