Indications:
PEVISONE 10 GM is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It works by reducing the inflammation, redness, and itching associated with these conditions.
Pharmacology:
PEVISONE 10 GM contains Hydrocortisone acetate, a potent corticosteroid that works by reducing the activity of the immune system in the skin. It suppresses inflammation by inhibiting the release of certain chemicals (prostaglandins and leukotrienes) that promote inflammation, thereby decreasing swelling, redness, and itching.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of PEVISONE 10 GM to the affected area 1–2 times daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider.
Do not apply more than the recommended dose or use for prolonged periods unless directed by your doctor.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions regarding the frequency and duration of use.
Administration:
Topical use only. Apply a thin layer of the cream directly to the affected skin area. Gently rub it in until it is absorbed. Avoid using it on the face, groin, or underarms unless specifically advised by a doctor.
Interaction:
PEVISONE 10 GM is for external use only, and interactions with other oral medications are unlikely. However, caution should be taken when used in conjunction with other topical corticosteroids or anti-inflammatory products.
Always inform your doctor about any other topical medications or treatments you are using.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or any components of the product.
Viral, fungal, or bacterial skin infections (unless properly treated with an antimicrobial agent).
Use on open wounds or damaged skin without proper medical guidance.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of PEVISONE 10 GM may include:
Skin irritation or burning at the application site
Dryness or thinning of the skin
Stretch marks (with prolonged use)
Serious side effects may include:
Systemic absorption leading to hormonal imbalance (rare)
Increased risk of skin infections
If you experience excessive irritation, allergic reactions, or any new skin issues, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Use during pregnancy should be limited and only if prescribed by a doctor. Hydrocortisone is classified as a Category C drug, meaning it may cause harm to the fetus if used in high doses or for prolonged periods.
Lactation: It is not known whether hydrocortisone is excreted in breast milk. Use cautiously if breastfeeding, and consult your healthcare provider.
Therapeutic Class:
Topical Corticosteroids.
Storage Conditions:
Store PEVISONE 10 GM at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it tightly closed in its original container and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
