Indications:
SANDOM 10 MG is prescribed for:
Major depressive disorder
Anxiety disorders
Panic attacks
This medication helps to stabilize mood, reduce anxiety, and relieve the symptoms of depression by influencing serotonin levels in the brain. It may also be prescribed to treat other mood and behavioral disorders as determined by a healthcare provider.
Pharmacology:
SANDOM 10 MG contains Sertraline, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). SSRIs work by increasing the levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, emotions, and behavior. By preventing the reuptake of serotonin, Sertraline ensures that it remains active in the brain for a longer period, thus improving mood and reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and panic. This makes SANDOM an effective treatment for those suffering from mood disorders and anxiety-related conditions.
Dosage:
The usual starting dose for depression or anxiety in adults is 10 mg once daily, taken in the morning or evening.
Based on the response to treatment, the dose may be increased, typically up to 50 mg per day.
The dose should be adjusted according to your doctor’s advice.
Administration:
Take SANDOM 10 MG orally with or without food.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not chew or crush the tablet.
Try to take the medication at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
Interaction:
Other antidepressants: Combining with other antidepressants (e.g., MAO inhibitors, SSRIs) may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, a potentially life-threatening condition.
Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin): Taking SANDOM 10 MG with blood thinners may increase the risk of bleeding.
