Indications:
PROFENID CR 200 MG is primarily indicated for the management of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with musculoskeletal conditions, such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory disorders. It is also used for relief from soft tissue injuries, back pain, and general inflammatory pain.
Pharmacology:
PROFENID CR 200 MG contains Ketoprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ketoprofen works by inhibiting the action of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins. These chemicals cause inflammation, pain, and fever. By blocking COX enzymes, Ketoprofen helps reduce inflammation, pain, and swelling in the affected areas. The controlled-release formulation allows the medication to release gradually, providing prolonged relief over time, making it ideal for managing chronic pain.
Dosage:
The usual adult dose is 200 mg once daily, or as prescribed by your doctor.
The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
It is best taken with food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
Administration:
Take PROFENID CR 200 MG orally as directed by your doctor.
Take the tablet at the same time each day for consistent blood levels.
Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
Interaction:

Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin): Using blood thinners with NSAIDs can increase the risk of bleeding.
Diuretics and ACE inhibitors: Care should be taken when combining these drugs as they can increase the risk of kidney damage.
