Description

• রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

Indications:
TELFAST 180 MG is commonly used for:

  • Hay fever (Allergic rhinitis): Relieves symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and nasal congestion caused by pollen, dust, or other allergens.

  • Chronic idiopathic urticaria (Hives): Reduces itching, redness, and swelling caused by allergic reactions.

  • Other allergic conditions: Helps manage other allergic conditions that result from histamine release.

By blocking the action of histamine, TELFAST 180 MG helps to reduce symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itching, providing effective relief for patients suffering from various allergic conditions.

Pharmacology:
TELFAST 180 MG contains Fexofenadine, a second-generation antihistamine. Unlike older antihistamines, fexofenadine causes less sedation and drowsiness, making it a preferable option for people who need relief from allergies but cannot afford to feel sleepy during the day. Fexofenadine works by selectively blocking the H1 histamine receptors, which play a central role in allergic reactions. This results in reduced symptoms of sneezing, itching, runny nose, and watery eyes.

Dosage:

  • For adults and children aged 12 years and older: The usual dose is 180 mg once daily.

  • For seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever): Take 180 mg daily for symptom relief.

  • For chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives): Take 180 mg daily to reduce symptoms.

Always follow your doctor’s instructions for dosage, and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Administration:

  • Take TELFAST 180 MG orally with a glass of water.

  • It can be taken with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole, do not crush or chew it.

Interaction:

  • Antacids: Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may reduce the absorption of fexofenadine. To avoid this, take TELFAST at least 2 hours before or after using such antacids.

  • Erythromycin and Ketoconazole: These drugs may increase the concentration of fexofenadine in the blood, so they should be used cautiously and under medical supervision.

  • Fruit Juices (like grapefruit or orange juice): These can interfere with fexofenadine absorption, so it’s best to avoid them while taking TELFAST.

Always inform your healthcare provider about any other medications, including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any of its components.

  • Severe kidney disease: Use with caution, and dose adjustments may be necessary.

  • Pregnancy: TELFAST should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is classified as Pregnancy Category C.
