ORVA 10 MG is primarily indicated for the management of high cholesterol, particularly for reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels. It is also used to prevent cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks and strokes, by reducing cholesterol levels and improving overall lipid profile.
Pharmacology:
ORVA 10 MG contains Atorvastatin, which is a statin (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). Statins work by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in the production of cholesterol in the liver. By blocking this enzyme, Atorvastatin reduces the overall cholesterol levels in the blood, particularly lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides, while modestly increasing HDL (good) cholesterol. This helps to prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Lactation: Atorvastatin is excreted in breast milk, and it is not recommended for use during breastfeeding. Consult your healthcare provider before using this medication if you are breastfeeding.
