Description

• রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

Indications:
TELFAST 120 MG is commonly used for:

  • Hay fever (Allergic rhinitis): Treats symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and nasal congestion caused by pollen or other allergens.

  • Hives (Urticaria): Helps reduce itching, redness, and swelling caused by allergic reactions.

  • Other allergic conditions: Effective in treating various forms of allergic reactions that involve histamine release.

TELFAST 120 MG works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical that is released during an allergic reaction, thus helping to reduce allergic symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itching, and watery eyes.

Pharmacology:
TELFAST 120 MG contains Fexofenadine, a second-generation antihistamine. Unlike first-generation antihistamines, fexofenadine has fewer sedative effects, making it less likely to cause drowsiness. It works by selectively inhibiting the histamine receptors (H1 receptors) in the body, which play a key role in allergic reactions. By blocking these receptors, TELFAST reduces symptoms like itching, sneezing, and nasal congestion, without significantly affecting the central nervous system.

Dosage:

  • For adults and children above 12 years: The usual dose is 120 mg once daily.

  • For seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever): A single dose of 120 mg daily is usually sufficient.

  • For chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives): Take 120 mg once daily.

Always follow the doctor’s instructions for dosage, and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Administration:

  • Take TELFAST 120 MG orally with a glass of water.

  • It can be taken with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole, do not crush or chew it.

Interaction:

  • Antacids: Some antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may reduce the absorption of fexofenadine, so it’s best to take TELFAST at least 2 hours before or after using an antacid.

  • Erythromycin or Ketoconazole: These medications may increase the concentration of fexofenadine in the blood and should be used with caution.

  • Fruit juices (e.g., grapefruit, orange): May reduce the effectiveness of fexofenadine. Avoid taking these with TELFAST.

Always inform your healthcare provider about other medications, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any of its components.

  • Severe kidney disease: Use with caution, as dose adjustment may be needed.

  • Pregnancy: TELFAST should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare provider. It is classified as Pregnancy Category C.
