Indications:
Fexten 120mg is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 12 years and over. It is also used to treat chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives) in the same age group.
Pharmacology:
Fexofenadine is a selective peripheral H₁ receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itching.
Dosage:

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 120 mg once daily.

Children aged 6 to 11 years: 30 mg twice daily.

Children aged 2 to 11 years: 30 mg twice daily (oral suspension form).
Administration:
Take orally with water. Avoid taking with fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit juice) as they may reduce the absorption of fexofenadine.
Interaction:

Antacids: Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may reduce the absorption of fexofenadine.

Erythromycin and Ketoconazole: These may increase the plasma concentration of fexofenadine.

Fruit Juices: Avoid taking with fruit juices as they may decrease the effectiveness of the medication.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any component of the formulation.
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include headache, drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy and lactation should be considered only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Kidney Disease: Use with caution in patients with kidney disease; dose adjustment may be necessary.

Driving and Operating Machinery: Fexofenadine may cause drowsiness; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.

Alcohol: Avoid alcohol as it may enhance the sedative effect.
Therapeutic Class:
Non-sedating antihistamines.

Store below 30°C in a dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
