Indications:
VISNIL is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men, improving the ability to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity.
Pharmacology:
Sildenafil Citrate is a selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It works by increasing cyclic GMP levels, causing smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow to the corpus cavernosum of the penis.
Dosage:
Typical dose: 50 mg taken orally about 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. Maximum once daily.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Avoid excessive alcohol and high-fat meals before dosing as they can delay absorption.
Interaction:
Contraindicated with nitrates or nitric oxide donors. Caution with alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, and CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Sildenafil, concurrent nitrate therapy, severe cardiovascular disorders, recent stroke or heart attack.
Side Effects:
Headache, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, visual disturbances.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not indicated for use in women. Safety in pregnancy or lactation not established.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use caution in patients with cardiovascular risk factors. Seek immediate medical help for prolonged erections (>4 hours).
