Indications:
PANDURA 2 mg is indicated for the treatment of various seizure disorders, including absence seizures and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, as well as panic disorder and severe anxiety.
Pharmacology:
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that works by enhancing the activity of GABA in the brain, producing sedative, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effects.
Dosage:
Starting dose for adults is usually lower (0.25–0.5 mg/day), gradually increased based on response. 2 mg is generally reserved for cases requiring stronger management under strict medical supervision.
Administration:
Should be taken orally, at a consistent time daily, with or without food. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.
Interaction:
May interact with other CNS depressants (e.g., alcohol, opioids), antiepileptics, antidepressants, and sedative antihistamines, increasing risk of sedation or respiratory depression.
Contraindications:
Not to be used in patients with hypersensitivity to Clonazepam or benzodiazepines, severe liver impairment, or acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
Side Effects:
May cause drowsiness, dizziness, impaired coordination, and fatigue. Rarely, may trigger mood changes, suicidal thoughts, or respiratory issues.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if absolutely necessary during pregnancy. Clonazepam may be excreted in breast milk and affect the infant; medical advice is essential.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use with caution in patients with a history of addiction, respiratory issues, or depression. Do not drive or operate machinery while on this medication.
