Indications:
LYRINEX CR 82.5 MG is indicated for:

Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia

Fibromyalgia

Adjunct therapy for adult patients with partial-onset seizures

(Off-label) Generalized anxiety disorder
Pharmacology:
Pregabalin is a GABA analogue that binds with high affinity to the alpha-2-delta site of voltage-gated calcium channels in central nervous system tissues. This modulates calcium influx and reduces the release of excitatory neurotransmitters, thereby relieving nerve pain and seizure activity. The CR (controlled release) form ensures steady plasma concentration for prolonged action.
Dosage & Administration:

Recommended dose: One tablet (82.5 mg) once daily, usually at bedtime.

Swallow whole with water. Do not crush, split, or chew.

Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal impairment.
Interaction:
May increase sedation when taken with CNS depressants (e.g., opioids, alcohol, benzodiazepines). Should be used cautiously with other nephrotoxic agents.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any component of the formulation.
Not recommended in pregnant women unless necessary.
Side Effects:
Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, increased appetite, dry mouth, peripheral edema.
Rare: Suicidal thoughts, angioedema, allergic reactions, weight gain.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution advised while breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Abrupt discontinuation may lead to withdrawal symptoms (e.g., insomnia, nausea, headache). Use with caution in patients with a history of substance abuse, mood disorders, or renal dysfunction.
