Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis, and stopping bacterial growth.
Pediatric dose is generally 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days, or as prescribed by the physician
Shake well before use
Can be taken with or without food
Use calibrated measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosing
Antacids may reduce absorption
May enhance the effect of warfarin
Use cautiously with QT-prolonging drugs
Avoid giving with ergot derivatives
Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or any macrolide antibiotics
History of liver dysfunction with macrolide use
Caution in patients with heart rhythm disorders
Common: Diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea
Less common: Vomiting, headache, dizziness
Rare: Allergic reaction, liver enzyme elevation
Not applicable directly to pediatric use
Mothers who breastfeed and handle the syrup should consult a doctor
Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
Use with caution in children with liver or heart issues
Discontinue and consult a doctor if any allergic reaction occurs

Store in a cool, dry place below 25–30°C. Protect from light. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
