Indications:
VOLTAREN 75 MG ampoule is indicated for:

Acute musculoskeletal pain
-
Postoperative pain
-
Renal colic
-
Acute flare-ups of rheumatic disorders
-
Trauma or sports injuries with inflammation
-
Dysmenorrhea
Pharmacology:
VOLTAREN contains diclofenac sodium, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), which decreases prostaglandin synthesis responsible for inflammation and pain. Injectable formulation ensures rapid onset of action in acute conditions.
Dosage:

Adults: 75 mg once daily by intramuscular (IM) injection.

In severe cases, a second dose may be given after a few hours (max 150 mg/day).

Not recommended for use beyond 2 days. If needed, transition to oral therapy.
Administration:

Administer deep IM into the gluteal muscle using aseptic technique.

Avoid intravenous or subcutaneous administration.
Interaction:

May interact with: anticoagulants, antiplatelets, corticosteroids, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, methotrexate, lithium
-
Concurrent use with other NSAIDs is not recommended
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs

Active GI ulcer or bleeding

Severe hepatic or renal impairment

History of asthma triggered by NSAIDs

Pregnancy (especially third trimester)
Side Effects:

Common: pain at injection site, nausea, dizziness, abdominal discomfort

Serious: GI bleeding, hepatic dysfunction, renal impairment, allergic reactions
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy

Caution in first and second trimesters

Not recommended during lactation unless clearly necessary
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor liver and renal function during prolonged use
-
Caution in elderly or patients with cardiovascular disease

Avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs concurrently

Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration
