Indications:
VOLTALIN FORTE 50 MG is indicated for:

Rheumatoid arthritis

Osteoarthritis
-
Ankylosing spondylitis
-
Chronic musculoskeletal pain

Post-traumatic inflammation

Post-operative pain
Pharmacology:
VOLTALIN FORTE contains diclofenac sodium (sustained release), which inhibits the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thus reducing prostaglandin synthesis. This helps control inflammation, pain, and swelling. The sustained-release formulation provides prolonged action, reducing the need for frequent dosing.
Dosage:

Adults: Usually 50 mg once or twice daily, preferably after meals.

Dosage should be individualized based on severity and patient response.

Do not exceed 150 mg/day unless advised by a physician.
Administration:
Take orally with a full glass of water, preferably after food. Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew or crush.
Interaction:

May interact with: anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids, other NSAIDs, diuretics, antihypertensives, lithium, methotrexate.

Avoid alcohol and tobacco during therapy.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or NSAIDs

Active or recurrent peptic ulcer or GI bleeding

Severe hepatic or renal impairment

History of NSAID-induced asthma

Pregnancy in the third trimester
Side Effects:

Common: nausea, abdominal pain, heartburn, headache, dizziness

Serious: gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, renal impairment, cardiovascular thrombotic events
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Contraindicated during third trimester of pregnancy.

Caution during first and second trimesters and lactation. Use only if clearly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor liver and kidney function during long-term use

Increased risk of cardiovascular events with prolonged use

Caution in elderly patients or those with GI disorders
