Typical dose: 80 mg once or twice daily, based on patient’s condition
Can be taken with or without food
Dose adjustments may be necessary for renal or hepatic impairment
May increase potassium levels when used with potassium-sparing diuretics or supplements
Caution with NSAIDs and other antihypertensives
Avoid concurrent use with ACE inhibitors
Hypersensitivity to valsartan or any component
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Severe hepatic impairment
Use caution in patients with renal artery stenosis
Common: Dizziness, headache, fatigue
Less common: Hyperkalemia, hypotension
Rare: Angioedema, renal impairment
Pregnancy: Contraindicated due to risk of fetal harm
Lactation: Not recommended
Monitor blood pressure and kidney function regularly
Avoid sudden discontinuation
Watch for signs of angioedema
