Indications:
VOLTALIN 50 MG is indicated for the treatment of:

Rheumatoid arthritis

Osteoarthritis
-
Ankylosing spondylitis
-
Acute musculoskeletal pain
-
Post-operative or dental pain
-
Dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps)
Pharmacology:
VOLTALIN contains diclofenac sodium, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins—chemicals that cause pain, fever, and inflammation.
Dosage:
Adults: 50 mg two to three times daily, depending on severity.
Maximum daily dose: 150 mg, unless otherwise directed by a physician.
Administration:
Take orally, preferably after meals with a full glass of water to minimize gastrointestinal irritation.
Interaction:

May interact with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids, diuretics, antihypertensives, lithium, and methotrexate.

Concomitant use with other NSAIDs or alcohol increases GI risk.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs

History of peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding

Severe liver, kidney, or heart failure

Asthma induced by NSAIDs

Third trimester of pregnancy
Side Effects:

Common: nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, dizziness, diarrhea

Rare/Serious: gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, renal impairment, cardiovascular events
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Avoid during the third trimester of pregnancy

Use with caution in the first two trimesters and during breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician
Precautions & Warnings:

Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration

Monitor for signs of GI bleeding, liver or kidney problems during prolonged use

Caution in patients with cardiovascular risk or history of stroke

Avoid alcohol and smoking while on this medication
