Indications:
TRILEPTAL 300 MG is indicated for the treatment of partial seizures, with or without secondary generalization, in adults and children.
Pharmacology:
Contains oxcarbazepine, which blocks voltage-sensitive sodium channels, stabilizing hyperexcited neural membranes and preventing seizure spread.
Dosage:
Initial dose typically starts at 300 mg twice daily; dosage adjusted according to clinical response and tolerability.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:
May interact with other anticonvulsants, oral contraceptives, and diuretics. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to oxcarbazepine or its components.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Rarely, hyponatremia or allergic reactions may occur.
