VOLTALIN SR 100 MG is indicated for the long-term management of:

Rheumatoid arthritis

Osteoarthritis

Ankylosing spondylitis
-
Chronic low back pain
-
Persistent musculoskeletal pain

Post-operative inflammation
Pharmacology:
VOLTALIN SR contains diclofenac sodium (100 mg) in a sustained-release formulation. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thus blocking prostaglandin synthesis—resulting in pain and inflammation reduction. The SR formulation ensures prolonged drug release and effect, requiring less frequent dosing.
Dosage:

Adults: One tablet (100 mg) once daily, preferably in the evening after meals.

Dosage may be adjusted by physician depending on clinical condition.
Administration:
Take the tablet orally with food or after meals. Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew.
Interaction:

May interact with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), antiplatelets, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, corticosteroids, methotrexate, lithium.

Avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs concurrently.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or NSAIDs

Active or history of peptic ulcer or GI bleeding

Severe liver or kidney impairment

Pregnancy & Lactation:

Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Use in early pregnancy and lactation only if clearly indicated and under medical supervision.

Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function recommended during long-term use

Avoid in patients with cardiovascular disease, peptic ulcers, or GI disorders
