Indications:
VOLTALIN 25 MG is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever including musculoskeletal disorders, back pain, dental pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea.
Pharmacology:
VOLTALIN contains diclofenac potassium, a fast-acting NSAID that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis to relieve pain and inflammation.
Dosage:
Typical adult dose: 25–50 mg two or three times daily depending on severity. Maximum dose should not exceed 150 mg/day unless prescribed.
Administration:
Take orally with water, preferably with or after meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Interaction:
Can interact with aspirin, other NSAIDs, anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), diuretics, antihypertensives, and lithium. Always consult a doctor before using with other medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs
History of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers
Severe hepatic or renal dysfunction
Pregnancy in the third trimester
Known cardiovascular disease in long-term use
Side Effects:
Common: nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhea, dizziness.
Serious (rare): GI bleeding, liver toxicity, renal impairment, cardiovascular issues.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Avoid during third trimester; use with caution in first two trimesters and during breastfeeding only if clearly needed.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid long-term use unless advised
Use the lowest effective dose
Monitor kidney/liver function if used long-term
Avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs simultaneously
May increase cardiovascular risks if used chronically
