Indications:
SEROLUX 100 MG is indicated for treatment of major depressive disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Pharmacology:
Contains sertraline hydrochloride, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases serotonin levels in the brain to improve mood and reduce anxiety.
Dosage:
Typically starts at 50 mg once daily, which can be increased up to 200 mg daily based on patient response and tolerability, as directed by a physician.
Administration:
Taken orally once daily, with or without food. Tablets should be swallowed whole.
Interaction:
May interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), other SSRIs, triptans, anticoagulants, and CNS depressants. Inform your doctor of all medications.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients taking MAOIs or with known hypersensitivity to sertraline.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, insomnia, dizziness, dry mouth, sexual dysfunction, and headache. Rarely, it may cause serotonin syndrome.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during breastfeeding as sertraline passes into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor for worsening depression or suicidal thoughts, especially in young adults.

Avoid abrupt discontinuation; taper dose under medical supervision.
