Indications:
Angilock 25 mg is indicated for:

Treatment of essential hypertension
-
Prevention of stroke in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy
-
Protection of kidneys in type 2 diabetic patients with proteinuria
Pharmacology:
Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors, causing vasodilation and reduced secretion of aldosterone, leading to lower blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:

Initial dose usually 50 mg once daily, may start at 25 mg in certain cases.

Dose adjusted according to blood pressure response.

Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:

May interact with potassium supplements, diuretics, NSAIDs, and lithium.

Monitor electrolytes and renal function when used with other antihypertensives.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Losartan or components

Pregnancy and lactation

Severe hepatic impairment
Side Effects:

Dizziness, fatigue, nasal congestion

Hyperkalemia, renal impairment (rare)

Angioedema (rare but serious)
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy. Use with caution during breastfeeding under medical advice.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

Use cautiously in renal artery stenosis and heart failure patients.
