🔸 Indications:
Fexo 180 mg is indicated for:

Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis (sneezing, runny/itchy nose, itchy/red eyes)
-
Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (long-term hives with itching and rash)
🔸 Pharmacology:
Fexo contains Fexofenadine Hydrochloride, a second-generation selective peripheral H1-antihistamine.
It works by blocking histamine receptors responsible for allergy symptoms, without crossing the blood-brain barrier significantly, which reduces sedation risk.
🔸 Dosage:

Adults and children ≥12 years: 180 mg once daily

Take with water, not with fruit juice (which may reduce absorption)
🔸 Administration:
Take orally on an empty stomach (before meals) with water. Avoid grapefruit, orange, or apple juice during administration.
🔸 Interaction:

Fruit juices (grapefruit, orange, apple) may reduce drug absorption
-
Antacids with aluminum/magnesium may lower absorption if taken simultaneously
-
Use with caution if using ketoconazole or erythromycin
🔸 Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any of its ingredients

Severe renal impairment (dose adjustment may be required)
🔸 Side Effects:

Back pain
Most side effects are mild and temporary.
🔸 Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used only if clearly necessary and under a doctor's guidance. Safety in pregnancy is not fully established, but generally considered low-risk.
