Indications:
Nebita is indicated for:
Essential hypertension
Chronic heart failure as adjunct therapy
Angina pectoris
Pharmacology:
Nebivolol is a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker with vasodilating properties, which decreases heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand while relaxing vascular smooth muscle.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: Usually 5 mg once daily; can be adjusted to 1.25-10 mg based on response.
Take with or without food, preferably at the same time daily.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, calcium channel blockers, and antiarrhythmic drugs.
Caution with drugs that affect heart rate and rhythm.
Contraindications:
Severe bradycardia
Heart block greater than first degree
Cardiogenic shock
Severe hepatic impairment
Side Effects:
Fatigue, dizziness, headache
Bradycardia, hypotension
Rare: bronchospasm, depression
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed; consult doctor before use in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly
Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent exacerbation of angina or myocardial infarction
Use cautiously in patients with respiratory disorders
