Fona 10 gm is a topical medication containing Adapalene, a third-generation retinoid primarily used in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Adapalene works by influencing cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes, which are key factors in acne development. It normalizes the differentiation of follicular cells and prevents the formation of microcomedones, which are early acne lesions. Fona is available in two formulations: a 0.1% cream and a 0.3% gel, both of which should be applied as a thin layer to the affected areas once daily at night. Common side effects include skin irritation, dryness, redness, and peeling, especially during the first few weeks of use, although these typically subside with continued treatment.
