Indications:
Motigut is indicated for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other functional gastrointestinal disorders characterized by abdominal pain and spasms.
Pharmacology:
Motigut contains Mebeverine hydrochloride, a musculotropic antispasmodic agent that acts directly on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract to relieve spasms without affecting normal gut motility.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: 135 mg three times daily before meals or as directed by the physician.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
Dosage may be adjusted according to patient response.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions reported.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Mebeverine or any components of the formulation.
Side Effects:
Generally well-tolerated; rare side effects include allergic reactions like rash, itching, and swelling.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician. Safety during pregnancy and lactation has not been fully established.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney impairment. Discontinue if allergic reactions occur.
