Indications:
Angilock is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, reduction of stroke risk in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy, and slowing progression of diabetic nephropathy.
Pharmacology:
Angilock contains Losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that blocks vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, leading to vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: 50 mg once daily, with or without food.
Dose may be adjusted according to blood pressure response.
Tablets should be swallowed whole.
Interaction:
May interact with potassium supplements, diuretics, NSAIDs, and other antihypertensive agents.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Losartan
Pregnancy and lactation
Severe hepatic impairment
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and hyperkalemia. Rarely, angioedema and renal impairment.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy. Use with caution in breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.
Use cautiously in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
Avoid sudden discontinuation.
