Maxrin 0.4 mg is indicated for the treatment of signs and symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men, including difficulty urinating, weak stream, and frequent urination.
Maxrin contains Tamsulosin Hydrochloride, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. It works by selectively relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urinary flow and reducing BPH symptoms.
The recommended dose is one capsule (0.4 mg) once daily, approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Dose may vary as per physician's direction.
Should be taken orally with water, without crushing or chewing the capsule. It is best taken after meals to reduce the risk of side effects.
Tamsulosin may interact with:
Alpha blockers
PDE5 inhibitors (e.g., sildenafil)
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole)
Warfarin and antihypertensive drugs
