Zolivox is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of Gram-positive bacteria including:
Nosocomial pneumonia
Community-acquired pneumonia
Skin and soft tissue infections
Infections caused by MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)
VRE (Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci) infections
Linezolid is an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It is active against most Gram-positive organisms including resistant strains like MRSA and VRE.
Adults: 600 mg every 12 hours for 10–14 days depending on infection type.
Children: Dosage should be determined by a physician based on weight and severity.
Can be taken with or without food. Should be swallowed whole with water. Do not split or crush the tablet.
Avoid with MAO inhibitors or serotonergic drugs due to risk of serotonin syndrome.
Caution with adrenergic and dopaminergic agents.
Avoid tyramine-rich foods during therapy.
Hypersensitivity to Linezolid
Patients taking SSRIs, MAOIs, or other serotonergic psychiatric medications without proper medical supervision.
Headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting
Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count)
Peripheral and optic neuropathy (with prolonged use)
Lactic acidosis (rare)
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Safety in pregnancy not fully established. Linezolid passes into breast milk; breastfeeding should be discontinued if used.
Monitor blood counts if used for more than 2 weeks.
Avoid prolonged use to prevent neuropathy or bone marrow suppression.
Use with caution in patients with hypertension or thyroid disorders.

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
