Description
Acos 30 ml Suspension is an antibiotic medication produced by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., containing Azithromycin Dihydrate at a concentration of 200 mg per 5 ml. It belongs to the macrolide class of antibiotics and is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. Acos is commonly prescribed for upper and lower respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia), otitis media (middle ear infections), skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted diseases like non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.
The recommended dosage for adults is 500 mg once daily for 3 days, or 500 mg on day 1 followed by 250 mg daily for the next 4 days. For children, the dosage is typically 10 mg/kg body weight once daily for 3 days. Acos should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals to ensure optimal absorption.
